Now I have selected my front cover and title that I believe will automatically attract the correct audience due to its retro colours, image and title font, I now need to begin adding headings will various fonts, stories and slogans to catch the eyes of the target audience and make it readable for both the male and female demographic.
I began by thinking about the main image and what headline I could link to that, I came up with something that would suit all types of people, interviews with the Jackson 5. Interviews have a massive impact on readers, they feel a connection with the magazine and artist to some extent and this connection causes us to want to read further into these artists therefore multiple interviews will keep them interested. In smaller letters underneath I added that other interviews will appear in the magazine with various artists that way appealing to a wider audience. I created 'THE JACKSONS' in a different font almost looking like its scripted on, this change in font will break the repetitiveness of various headlines therefore making the reader notice it instantly and take more notice of what's written beneath. ''TOP 20 MOTOWN FASHIONS'' is one aimed at the ladies, as we all know fashion is like a cycle and rite now vintage and retro fashion is very much back in 'style' therefore this attracting the unfashionable ones out there looking for inspiration. I also added short information about there being a chance to win some of these clothes, this will engage the reader making them read further inside to find this competition, it interacts with the reader making them feel a part of the publication and even making them become regulars in buying the magazine as they will search for these regular competitions. I again made varied fonts to keep the eye interested and to stop a boring same colour same font repetition from occurring. And finally for this first stage of development of course a bar code, just to add realism and recognition that it is a front cover.
