final

develop 2

These next two headings I have added are still focusing on the colour and font change but keeping the colours between oranges, reds and blacks this gives it a colour scheme without it becoming boring. ''Wonder and Blindness'' this is aimed to capture attention as it doesnt make sense on its own therefore making you curious and read further so you realise its about Stevie Wonder and his blindness. I kept the word 'BLINDNESS' in bold italics to capture the attention as its not something you would usually associate with a music magazine, so this contrast will immediately draw readers in as people have a desire to know and talk about the latest stories. The bottom sub heading almost acting as a banner to stop the repetitive side headlines. The whole point of music magazines is mainly the music, therefore having a large black heading about the massive hits of the motown era allows readers to develop their knowledge of Motown artists and music etc, this desire of wanting a better knowledge in their favourite music genre captures attention and subconsciously forces them to buy and read on. I changed the font of the word ''Massive'' to stand out agaisnt the rest to stop it sinking into the background. Underneath the Masthead I added a date and year to create realism, choosing a summer month as the picture is very summery and needs to reflect the time of the year as this is what audiences expect from the media as it needs to follow the mood and events of the year.

Finally to complete this motown magazine front cover I added subheading to do with festivals and gigs upcoming in various areas around the country. Festivals and gigs are only getting bigger as time goes by, therefore people that may not have been able to experience a festival involving motown music because of the time change, it now offers them this unique chance. By using this and local gigs that are motown based interacts with the audience in many ways, they feel as though the magazine has made the effort to find information out for them therefore feel a connection to it and are drawn to it. They also feel happy and get pleasure out of finding these events through this magazine and therefore if they see this magazine again the same feeling will return through recognition, therefore things that are focused at the audience really attract readers. I feel the colour scheme has worked really well, although iv based it around 3 colours it still seems very colourful but controls the messiness nicely. My final finished cover looks like the top image. :)

Now I have selected my front cover and title that I believe will automatically attract the correct audience due to its retro colours, image and title font, I now need to begin adding headings will various fonts, stories and slogans to catch the eyes of the target audience and make it readable for both the male and female demographic.

I began by thinking about the main image and what headline I could link to that, I came up with something that would suit all types of people, interviews with the Jackson 5. Interviews have a massive impact on readers, they feel a connection with the magazine and artist to some extent and this connection causes us to want to read further into these artists therefore multiple interviews will keep them interested. In smaller letters underneath I added that other interviews will appear in the magazine with various artists that way appealing to a wider audience. I created 'THE JACKSONS' in a different font almost looking like its scripted on, this change in font will break the repetitiveness of various headlines therefore making the reader notice it instantly and take more notice of what's written beneath. ''TOP 20 MOTOWN FASHIONS'' is one aimed at the ladies, as we all know fashion is like a cycle and rite now vintage and retro fashion is very much back in 'style' therefore this attracting the unfashionable ones out there looking for inspiration. I also added short information about there being a chance to win some of these clothes, this will engage the reader making them read further inside to find this competition, it interacts with the reader making them feel a part of the publication and even making them become regulars in buying the magazine as they will search for these regular competitions. I again made varied fonts to keep the eye interested and to stop a boring same colour same font repetition from occurring. And finally for this first stage of development of course a bar code, just to add realism and recognition that it is a front cover.
